Consultancy

With a team of staff members possessing in-depth knowledge spanning across the many specialized areas of accounting and finance, our School is able to offer consultancy services to industry and commerce in a number of specialised areas. Apart from carrying out consultancy projects, our School has also been active in providing professional training services to organizations in the accounting and finance community, such as:

Ernst & Young (E&Y) Accountancy Conversion Programme
Since 2001, we have joined forces with one of the Big Four firms, E&Y, to offer accountancy training to the firm's non-accountancy degree holders. Our School is responsible for the design, organization, and teaching of this postgraduate level intensive training programme which is conducted on our university campus. Participants who successfully complete the programme are qualified for enrolment in the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (HKICPA) Qualification Programme as well as other professional accountancy examinations.

Training Workshop on PRC for Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants
In the aftermath of China's accession to the WTO, more and more Hong Kong accounting professionals are seeking service opportunities in the Chinese mainland. In 2002, our School has been commissioned by the HKICPA a two-year contract to organize professional continuing training programme for its members so as to keep them abreast of the latest developments in accounting, tax, auditing, and corporate governance in China. Conducted in the form of workshops, the programme has attracted more than 400 HKICPA members.

Teacher Development Courses for Education Department
In both 2002 and 2003, our School has been commissioned by the Education Department of Hong Kong to conduct an in-service development course for secondary school teachers, with the aim of helping them to build up their knowledge and skills in Costing, Budgeting and Investment Appraisal, and Lease and Consolidation. Over 150 delegates from secondary schools have registered in this course which is being conducted from June 2002 to November 2003.

To serve the needs of continuing education in accounting and finance, the School has also been organizing and participating in a number of other continuing education or training programmes intended for accounting and finance professionals in Hong Kong and the Chinese mainland, and for executives of SME's in Hong Kong.
